Ron McClure :: bassist Bassist Ron McClure has worked with a virtual Who's Who of the jazz world. Ron has worked with Wynton Kelly, Joe Henderson, Keith Jarrett, Dave Liebman, Thelonius Monk, Paul Bley and Blood, Sweat and Tears. Ron has recorded extensively as a leader. He as also recorded with Charles Lloyd, The Fourth Way,Lee Konitz, Michel Petrucciani, Quest, and numerous other leading jazz artists. Ron is active as an educator, having done clinics and master classes throughout Canada, Europe and the United States. Ron has been on staff at Mannes College, New York University, and the New School in New York. Brian Dickinson :: pianist Since his arrival in Toronto in 1979, pianist Brian Dickinson has worked with many jazz luminaries including Randy Brecker, John Abercrombie, Sonny Fortune, Jerry Bergonzi, Dewey Redman, Pat LaBarbera, Sheila Jordan, Sonny Greenwich, Kenny Wheeler, and Eddie Daniels. As a leader Brian has released four recordings. His second CD release In Transition was awarded a Juno Award for best jazz recording in 1991. Brian's current trio was formed in 1992 and includes Jerry Fuller (drums) and Keiran Overs (bass). This group has released two recordings, both on the Jazz Inspiration label (Brian Dickinson JID 9304, and Live at the Senator JID 9308) both of which have enjoyed success in Canada, Japan and the U.S. His most recent recording Still Waters is a duo setting with trumpeter Kenny Wheeler, and is scheduled for release on the Hornblower label. As a sideman, Dickinson can be heard on many recordings, including Mike Murley's Two Sides (Juno Award Winner, 1990) and Time and Tide, Keiran Overs' Gateway, Shapeshift and Quartetto; Michael Stewart's The Blessing, and Roy Patterson's The Coming of Angels and Inland Passages (1996 Prix de Jazz winner, Festival International de Jazz de Montreal). In addition to his concert, club and touring engagements, Brian is on the jazz faculty at the University of Toronto and Humber College. Brian holds a Masters in Music (with distinction) from the New England Conservatory. Bob McLaren :: drummer Drummer Bob McLaren has been a mainstay on the Canadian jazz scene for over 20 years. Bob has worked with jazz greats Zoot Sims, George Coleman, Clifford Jordan, Tom Harrell, Randy Brecker, and Charles McPherson. Bob has recorded with Pat LaBarbera, Sam Noto, Doug Riley, Moe Koffman, and Peter Appleyard. In addition, Bob's many years as first call in the recording studios have seen him perform on well over 2000 jingles for radio and television. Bob is currently on the faculty at the University of Toronto. |
